Information:

Are you ready to restore the look of your chipped or uneven teeth? Have you tried everything to whiten your teeth, but they still remained discolored? Dental issues like these can be effectively solved using porcelain dental veneers. They are a quick way to improve the look of your teeth and boost your confidence in your smile.

Veneers are made of wafer-thin porcelain and are cemented to the front of your teeth to cover imperfections. These shells can change the color, shape, size, or length of your teeth.

The following dental conditions can be corrected with porcelain veneers:

  • Teeth that are stained or discolored from red wine, coffee, smoking or use of certain medications
  • Worn-down teeth due to grinding
  • Chipped or broken teeth
  • Crooked, misshapen teeth
  • Gaps between teeth

How Veneers Work

First, your teeth will be prepared by your dentist for the placement of the veneer by reshaping the tooth’s surface. An impression will be made of the tooth, which is used to make the veneer. It is sent to a lab to be fabricated, and in the meantime, you will be provided with a temporary veneer if necessary.

Before permanent placement of the veneer on your tooth, the dentist will trim and shape it to ensure a proper fit. The doctor then uses a special cement to adhere the veneer to your tooth. A light is used to activate the chemicals in the bonding material, causing it to harden quickly. At this time, any final adjustments are made to ensure a proper fit.

The benefits of porcelain veneers include:

  • Provides the appearance of a natural tooth
  • Stain resistant
  • Porcelain material does not irritate gum tissue
  • Color can be customized to blend in with the rest of your teeth
